I tried to interchange padding between the old one and the new, but they wouldn’t fit. However, if you get used to this slight discomfort, the Gripmaster hand exerciser may be a good way to relieve boredom and gradually improve your strength. Plus, it’s also small enough for you to carry it in your pocket.
The two balls are also a nice addition to the kit and the fact that they come at different densities make them easier for you to use according to your mood. They work pretty good as stress balls on a hard work day.
People with larger hands may find this gripper small for their hands, but it should still offer a fair grip nonetheless. The 60-80 lbs batch is another story; those are definitely made for professionals. We managed to squeeze the 60 and 70 lbs ones at one point, but the 80 lbs one is almost so impossible, it’s comical – even when using both hands! It has some weaker points which make the ring easier to bend – although, at that point, we couldn’t feel a difference between the 70 and the 80 lbs ones. There’s also the risk that if you apply too much pressure to the 80 lbs ring, it’ll crack and break. It’s literally like trying to bend stones.
Other than the fact that the 80 lbs ring was literally made for Iron Man, we couldn’t find any major problems with the other rings. This is a very unique and high quality alternative to traditional hand strengtheners that I can safely recommend to just about anyone.
The build of the strengthener is pretty decent. The hinges were made out of solid steel, making the product pretty durable. Even after a few weeks of using, the hinge did not break, and the grip remained strong. The only problem about this product is at the joint, where the plastic moves together with the hinge, causing some friction. The plastic pieces will rub together at some point and create some fine dust that may need cleaning, but it isn’t a problem that will affect the device’s movement; it’ll just be there.
Another thing that you need to be careful of is the fact that it can leave stains. For example, if you work at a desk and you decide to test the product for the first time, prepare to clean black rubber from everywhere. The friction will create tiny droppings of rubber that get all over the place. This only happens the first few times you use it, but still, it's annoying.

The only problem would be if you are a man or someone with large hands; in that case, the grip may be more difficult for you and you may not be able to exercise to the full extent. Overall, the product seems to be fairly good for its price. It might still be a good idea to make some improvements on the spring since it is prone to breaking at some point.
